Glos SpeleoSoc

GSS (Gloucester Speleological Society) is an active club with an interest in underground exploration and some surface things and socials too. The Forest of Dean, Wales, the Mendips and Bath area are all nearby with mines and underground quarries. There are weekday evening trips every week and weekend trips most weekends. Trip to Ogof Cnwc this Sunday (7th Jan). Jann says "Whose idea was it to do Daren Cilau as the first trip of the year? Oh yeah, mine!
Seriously, Ogof Cnwc is the second, much easier, entrance to Daren Cilau, one of the big three caves on the Llangattock. The main entrance is a 500m wet crawl, but Ogof Cnwc is just a few metres of crawling, then mostly walking and boulder hopping. Further in are some short fixed ladders, then some fantastic formations..."
