| Constitution Change: | |||
| Because
of the changes to membership details that have arisen due to
the new liability insurance scheme, it has become apparent that
“Associate Membership” is no longer viable. The
advantages
of this category of membership are met by other, existing levels. To
remove Associate Membership requires a change in the club Constitution,
which has to be considered by the membership. Such a change requires
the membership to be informed at least 2 weeks in advance, so here is
your notification! Associate Membership used to cover those people that wanted to maintain contact with the club, and receive club newsletters, etc., but were unable to attend any meetings. They had no voting rights. But because all members are now required to be insured, this means they would be paying for something they would never use, and the club’s premiums could also be higher. Anyone who wants to receive any club publications will still be able to buy them separately. These are the basic details as to why the committee feel this change should be made; further explanation will be given at the AGM and you will be able to vote on the matter. |

| Club Yahoo Group: | |||
| Dave
Appleing has
suggested setting up a Yahoo Group for the club, to enable members to
communicate with the rest of the membership. Once the group has been set up, with all the members on it (at least, those with email access), any one member can send a message to the whole of the group in one shot. Dave will be able to describe other benefits of such a system. Please let the committee know if you are in favour of this idea. |
