| Ongoing GSS Projects - Slad Brook |
Joe
has agreed to do another survey job in the next valley, under an
industrial estate that also got flooded (during the recent floods in
the area). It's halfway up a hill, but a blockage lower down did for
them!
As Joe puts it "It makes a change, doing these good
deeds (and front-page ones at that), from 'bloody potholers, always
getting into trouble and having to get rescued at taxpayers
expense...'".
There is a new photo of the Slad Brook team whch can be found in the Slad Brook section
of Other
Galleries in the GSS Gallery. |

| Proposed Trip - Florence Iron Mine: |
|
|
This
mine, located
in Egremont, Cumbria is the last working iron ore mine in the UK and
possibly Europe. The club is looking to arrange a visit in early 2008
but needs a party of 10 people before doing so.
This is a unique opportunity to get visit this mine while it is still
open and working. Be quick as places will go fast. Contact Jon Maisey (jon.maisey@btinternet.com)
for further details. |

| Ongoing GSS Projects - Slad Brook |
The GSS
has
taken on the task to survey part of the Slad Brook. Slad Brook runs
underneath part of Stroud and because of a probable blockage at some
point has been partially responsible for some of the recent major
flooding occuring in this area.
One visit has already been made by Joe, Danny, Jon, Trev, Christopher
and Rebecca. Follow-up trips are also planned and the club has been
given a welcome donation by the Slad Brook Action Group. You can view
photos from the first trip in the Slad Brook section
of Other
Galleries in the GSS Gallery. |
